Jenny Kuri, Fine Art Dolls & Puppets

Jenny's whimsical characters are sculpted from beautiful textiles, feathers and completed with needle-felted features.

The inspiration for Jenny's unique figures are shaped by her interpretation of the natural world. An abundance of colourful materials are used, specializing in felt. Jenny attended the Ontario College of Art and Design, and the Nova Scotia College of Art where she studied in the Material Art and Design program. She now lives and works in Toronto. Her work can be found at various shows around Toronto, and in private collections in Canada, the U.S. and Germany. Her work has been shown regularly at C1 Artspace in Toronto, at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, the Toronto Outdoor Art Show in Nathan Phillips Square, and most recently at the One of A Kind Christmas show at the Exhibition Place.

All the works are for sale and range in price from $18 - $150

Highly Strung from dave jones on Vimeo.

I thought these rubber head puppets from Germany
were very interesting, quite extreme and strangely beautiful.

Again...wandering online and found Chad Solomon and his Rabbit and Bear Paws puppets which help promote the graphic novels. The characters are mischievous and the audience learns enjoyable life lessons from their numerous pranks and mistakes while also appreciating the unity of the Native communities and how they related to one another peacefully. Instantly recognizable and fun character art draws the reader and/or viewer smoothly into the colourful stories. n this new interactive puppet theater called; Rabbit and Bear Paws: The Way, we retell theAnishinabe Creation teaching of Nanabazhoo and the Animals. RED WAGON COLLECTIVE: DONATIONS NEEDED:
fabric, wool, embroidery floss, needles, crochet hooks, old sweaters

RED WAGON COLLECTIVE was formed in 2006 in response to our desire to deepen our artistic, collaborative, and community-engaged practices through residency projects that would enable us to develop both intensive and extensive relationships in the Junction - a rapidly changing neighbourhood in Toronto's west end. We share a desire to work collaboratively with artists and non-artists to create work that inspires new conversations; softens boundaries between groups separated by age, culture, ability, and economic status; promotes the presence of art in everyday life and contributes to increasing public engagement in community development. The work we create with communities is used in producing exhibitions, public installations, and celebratory performance events. We are currently working within the walls of the Evangeline Shelter.

Image Foundry specializes in edition printing, custom art reproduction projects, and high-end photo-retouching work.
